o Toddlers: our toddler room is home to our youngest age group, ranging from 15 months to 2.5 years of age. Our dedicated Toddler teachers play an integral role in helping the toddlers build and refine their skills. Toddlers at FLM are happy and inquisitive, and love to explore the Montessori activities at their own pace. The Toddler curriculum is comprised of practical life activities, sensorial activities, and language development. Toddler Room
“One test of the correctness of educational procedure is the happiness of the child.” – Maria Montessori
o Casa: Our Casa program is designed for ages 3 to 6 years of age. The Montessori Method believes in mixed-age grouping – in which older children assume the expectation as role models, and younger children benefit from the positive influence of their older peers. Our qualified teachers carefully design individualized Montessori programming for each child to explore at their own pace. Casa Room Casa Room Another View o According to Dr. Montessori’s research, the absorbent mind of the child is at its peak from 3-6 years of age. Children of this age group are natural learners, and learning happens without effort. They are keenly attuned to everything that stimulates their senses (i.e. shapes, sounds, smells, textures, tastes). They do much of their learning by touching and manipulating the objects around them. The Casa room is a “living room” for our students – with child-sized furniture and materials scaled to fit the child’s physical dimensions. This environment encourages the child to work independently using their own initiative, building self-discipline, concentration, and respect for others.
